Data Storage and Security

Local Storage

Your data is primarily stored locally on your device using Core Data, Apple's secure local database framework. This means your links and personal organization remain on your device under your control.

Cloud Synchronization

When you enable CloudKit sync, your data is securely transmitted to and stored in Apple's CloudKit service. This data is encrypted in transit and at rest. We do not have access to your CloudKit data - it is tied to your Apple ID and managed entirely by Apple.

Third-Party Services

Metadata Extraction

When you save a link, 123FYI may request metadata (title, description, thumbnail) from the source website. These requests are made directly from your device to the website and do not pass through our servers.

Platform APIs

For certain platforms (like Pinterest), we may use official APIs to enhance your experience. Any data accessed through these APIs is subject to the respective platform's privacy policy and is only used to provide the requested functionality.

Analytics (Optional)

If you choose to enable analytics, we may use privacy-focused analytics services to understand app usage patterns. This data is anonymized and cannot be traced back to individual users.
